BIG IDEA: The gospel shines brighter as history repeats itself.
This statement reflects the repetitive nature of the 7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 bowls. It’s also meant to comfort those who may get frustrated with God for “letting all these horrors happen” and doubt that He is good, merciful, loving, and just.
We must let Scripture reveal who God is and who we are in relation to Him, even if that involves being taken on a journey of reassessing stuff we’d rather forget or get past and discovering new questions with unsatisfying answers.
After all, Hebrews 11:6 says that “Without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
